76 facilities added or updated across the Loop
The biggest data ingestion pass since launch — 47 new facilities, 26 updates, and three cleanups. Net 44 new marinas, anchorages, locks, and dock walls along the canonical route.
What's new on the map
We added 47 new facilities and updated 26 existing ones across the Loop. Coverage in this pass leaned heavily on three regions:
- Trent-Severn Waterway — many new lock approach walls (free tie-ups at each lock chamber)
- Tenn-Tom Waterway — Lower Cook's Bend, Bashi Creek, Big Briar Creek, Big Blue Island, and more anchorages
- Mississippi River — Paducah municipal dock and other municipal walls
- Plus a scattering of additions on the Cumberland, the ICW Atlantic, and the Dismal Swamp
How we vet new facilities
Every new facility gets researched against a source hierarchy — official charts and operator information first (NOAA, Parks Canada, USACE), then operator and structured guides (Waterway Guide, marina websites), then cruiser reports (ActiveCaptain, forums). Every cited field carries its source. We won't post depth, clearance, or fuel availability unless it traces to a source we trust.
Anchorage coordinates
For anchorages specifically we now insist on tight coordinates — cruiser-GPS-grade where available, with a satellite-view sanity check before publishing. An anchorage that puts your boat in shallow water or off the channel is worse than no anchorage; we'd rather not list it than list it wrong.
Find them
Pull up the planner and zoom into the regions above. Anchorages are hidden by default — tap the Legend filter to reveal them. Search by facility name in the Stops tab will surface the new entries.
