Free cruising — off the route, on the map

Flip one switch in Trip Setup, and Loop Captain works the way you actually cruise Georgian Bay and the North Channel: no fixed itinerary, no phantom plans — just where you are, where you're headed next, and honest numbers.

The My Trip page's Loop section showing the Trip Setup card with the Free cruising toggle on, labeled 'On — planning by your logged stops while you're in covered water,' scoped to Georgian Bay and the North Channel.

The switch

Trip Setup has a "Free cruising" toggle, active only inside covered water.

Days without a destination stay honest

No invented daily-target projections — the app says you're staying put until you say otherwise.

Arriving resets the day

Logging an arrival clears your next destination, with a visible note, so every day starts from where you actually are.

Search near the boat

While free cruising, searching "fuel" or "anchorage" finds places near your position, not along a route.

Maps that match the mode

Maps show past legs and the next leg, not a future itinerary you've deliberately left. A "Free cruising" tag shows on the day card, the briefing, and the picker.
